Informed by the CDC, WHO, and Federal, state, and local agencies, Caraday is diligently applying an abundance of caution to proactively prevent infection in our communities for the benefit of the safety and wellbeing of our residents, patients, and staff. We must take every action that will lower our risk. Caraday is one of the few SNF operators in the nation led by a team of professionals with experience in population health, public health, and geriatric medicine and we are applying all domains to mitigate risks.
We are also applying our experience in telepresence, telehealth, and virtual care teams to support our residents, families and even medical professionals in learning how to leverage virtual communications technologies and telehealth while mitigating the risk of the spread of infection. To this end, Caraday is endeavoring to apply all its knowledge, expertise, experience, and judgment to be a proactive skilled nursing facility operator and a proactive steward of patient-centered population health management.
Position on Coronavirus (COVID-19)
March 12, 2020
Caraday Healthcare is a leader in skilled nursing, delivering integrated and coordinated care along the long-term and post-acute care continuum.
Given the increasing impact of the Coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) and the particular risk it poses to elderly populations, our leadership team has announced proactive, data-driven, informed plans to take every precautionary measure to ensure the safety of our residents and staff in all 13 Caraday Healthcare centers in Texas. We also will strive to be a model for reliable and informed communication for our patients, residents, families, team members, and the broader communities in which we serve.
To protect our patients and residents, we are no longer permitting medically unnecessary visitors and restricting access to our communities, following guidelines issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). In emergency circumstances, those who believe a visit to a Caraday center is necessary are instructed to contact that center’s administrator in advance.
In lieu of in-person visits, we are encouraging families and friends to seek other ways to maintain communications with our residents, such as Skype and Facetime, and Caraday will help facilitate those communications with the deployment of smart devices in our communities and guides to facilitate virtual communications and social connectedness.
We will continue to actively communicate the steps Caraday is taking to protect all of our communities, as well as disseminate ongoing news and updates regarding COVID-19 and guidelines people can use to better protect themselves as a matter of course.
